Butler began shooting the thriller psychological The Stranger Within alongside Estella Warren and William Baldwin in Mallorca Spain during November of 2011. Butler joined the film's cast in Los Angeles of Treachery, starring Michael Biehn. Filming began in Los Angeles on June 12, 2012. Butler co-starred with Michael Welch in 2013's horror film The Demented.
